Outward Dialing Modification allows you to alter the calling party number on outgoing calls over ISDN E1 links programmed as EURO Standard protocol.
To alter strings you create rules which tell the system how to identify the numbers to modify and how to modify them. The rules are created in the Outward Dialing Modification form. You use this form to select the rule to apply to a link. You also use it to associate a number type (National, International, etc.) and numbering plan (ISDN/Telephony, Data, Telex, etc.) to the modified number before it is sent to an ISDN E1 link.
See Program Embedded PRI/QSIG Trunks for additional programming requirements and procedures.
IMPORTANT: Outward Dialing Modification applies to embedded E1 ISDN Euro Standard protocol links and is intended for customers of Swisscom AG only. DO NOT deploy in other E1 service areas. Doing so may result in undesirable, and potentially harmful consequences, including the modification of CESID numbers that match rules programmed in this form.
Applies to user-dialed calls and to calls re-routed, transferred, or call forwarded from the system to the PSTN (service provider).
Outward Dialing Modification is applied after any CPN substitution that would otherwise apply to the digit string. To avoid confusion (and misdials) resulting from having the original calling party number modified more than once, only use one version of modification to alter the dial string.
The EX Controller does not support Calling Party Outward Dialing Modification.

Calling Party Outward Dialing Modification |
||
Index |
System-generated, protected field. Each index number represents a unique outward dialing modification rule as defined in the Outward Dialing Modification form. If the initial digits of an outbound ISDN Calling Party number sent over this link match the criteria programmed for this index number, the system will modify the number. Rules are checked for matches by index value order from lowest to highest. If a match is found, not further rules are checked. If no match is found, the calling party number is sent unmodified to the far end. You can provision up to 100 rules. |
|
Digits to Match |
System-generated, protected field. The digits to match at the beginning of the digit string in outbound calls. |
|
Digit Length Operator |
System-generated, protected field. The digit length operator to apply to the outgoing call. Valid operators:
|
|
Digit Length |
System-generated, protected field. The number of digits to match (0-32) at the beginning of the digit string in outbound calls. |
|
Number of Digits to Absorb |
System-generated, protected field. The number of digits to absorb (0-32) at the beginning of the digit string in outbound calls. |
|
Digits to be Inserted |
System-generated, protected field. The string to insert at the beginning of the digit string in outbound calls. |
|
Type of Number |
Select the number type that describes the kind of number the calling party is. Unknown - Used when the user or network has no knowledge of the type of number. The calling party number is organized according to the network numbering plan. This is the default value. International - For the definition of International, see ITU-T Recommendation I.330. National Number - Prefix or escape digits shall not be included. For the definition of National, see ITU-T Recommendation I.330. Network Specific Number - Indicates an administration/service number specific to the serving network, for example, a number used to access an operator. |
Unknown |
Numbering Plan ID |
Select the number plan ID that identifies what type of numbering plan is being used for the calling party number. Unknown - Used when the user or network has no knowledge of the type of number. The calling party number is organized according to the network numbering plan. This is the default value. ISDN/Telephony - ISDN/Telephony numbering plan according to ITU-T Recommendation E.164. Data - Data numbering plan according to ITU-T Recommendation X.121. Telex - Telex numbering plan according to ITU-T Recommendation F.69. National - National standard numbering plan. Private - Private numbering plan. |
